We're updating our site to improve your experience. We apologize for any issues that may occur.
In the coming months, probably by May, the TechSoup platform will be switching to Discourse, a 100% open source discussion platform.
There is only one version of Discourse – the awesome open source version. There’s no super secret special paid commercial version with better or more complete features. Because Discourse is 100% open source forum software, now and forever, it belongs to you as much as it belongs to us. That’s how community works.
Mention someone by @name. Paste in a link or an image, and we make it awesome on your behalf. Simple quoting and linking of replies and topics. Reply wherever you are, online or via email.
And it "just works" on your phone and tablet.
Discourse is designed for the next 10 years of the Internet, so the minimum browser requirements are high.
Discourse supports the latest, stable releases of all major browsers and platforms:
Discourse is a completely remote company, working from 17 different countries and 14 different timezones. The company uses its own product as its primary team coordination tool. "Discourse excels at asynchronous, distributed teamwork, so we can keep interruptions like instant messaging, calls, and meetings to a minimum."
See the Discourse full feature set, play with a live demo forum at try.discourse.org, or check out one of the DIscourse customer forums. Browsing some of the customer forums is a great way to explore what Discourse will be like for you.

Progress is continuing by the TechSoup staff on preparing for the switch to Discourse. The hope is that TechSoup can make the switch in May, and that the most recent content from the current forum will all be migrated.
Stay tuned for more updates!
